Digital transformation has rippled through both the public and private sectors for many years, changing not only the necessary tools we use but how each task is completed. It would be fair to say that such changes have not occurred so rapidly or readily until now. For most of us, 2020 has been a difficult year but the impact of local and national lockdowns as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic have only increased our reliance on technology. It has paved the way to what many are calling a ‘New Normal,’ but what exactly does that mean and should we accept it?

For many at the beating heart of innovation, this ‘New Normal,’ is something of a misconception because it is, first and foremost, not new at all. An agile workplace and remote working had already proven themselves as enablers and in several cases, seen to increase productivity. It felt obvious then that such processes would be adopted further. That second word ‘normal,’ also contentious for the rate of adoption faster than ever before. Not to mention the continuing need for person-to-person contact.
