Virtualisation Study Tours - CSI, Virtualization, Greenock
21st April 2010 & 19th May 2010 - Greenock

CSI and IBM are running a series of Virtualisation Study Tours from our European Virtualisation Briefing Centre in Greenock on the above dates.

This is the fourth successive year that we have run these Study Tours for our Midlands and North based customers and they have always been enthusiastically attended and well received. The rapid evolution of this arena, means that the content of the briefings is constantly evolving and changing. The objective of the Study Tour is to give technical managers/systems architects an overview of the different facets of virtualisation. We try to keep the presentations at a high level, however the team delivering these are IBM's second level technical support, so are able to answer very technical questions when required. In fact IBM's European second level technical support team, for our Intel based servers and blades, are based at Greenock.

IBM's Greenock location is about 18 miles from Glasgow Airport, and can also be reached by train. If you require accommodation for the Tuesday night, we can book this for you at the IBM rate (£65 for B&B).For people arriving on the Tuesday night, we will organise a curry. In addition we will also provide transport for you from when the Study Tour starts (10am on Wednesday) to when the Study Tour finishes (14:30pm) on Thursday).

The agenda will cover :

  • Trends in the Intel and AMD marketplace pertaining to virtualisation
  • Blades and virtualisation
  • High end (multiprocessor) servers
  • Unified storage (N Series) and how it can be used in a virtualised environment
  • Future directions of the above virtualisation products
