Customer Background
Firwood Paints Limited, established in 1925, is a third-generation family company manufacturing coatings for industrial applications, including heat resistant coatings for furnaces and specialised paints for vehicle components and machinery within the UK.
Although we understood the capabilities of the Internet, we needed to ensure the products we chose would fully exploit today’s technology and give us full e-Commerce functionality. Our new web presence needed to offer an end-to-end solution, which would integrate and streamline our business processes

Challenge
In recent years, Firwood has seen a significant decline in the market in terms of value and volume - with traditional manufacturing moving out of the UK. Not only were sales falling, but the market was becoming increasingly competitive as revenues and margins decreased. In addition, Firwood faced the difficulty of providing quality customer service to all of its 1800 live accounts - with a limited external and internal sales force.
