Data Analysts responsible for exploring large volumes of summarised data and being able to 'slice and dice' the data to reveal trends.

Prerequisites:
Experience with a web browser and Microsoft Windows applications is desirable , as is an understanding of your business reporting requirements

Software Release
This course will use IBM Cognos 8 standard demonstration data as the basis for the workshops and examples. It is possible to customize the course notes and examples using your own data , however there will be an additional fee for this customization

Course Outline
This course is aimed at business data analysts who are responsible for answering the 'who , what , when and where' type of questions. This is based on a clear understanding of the business data. Techniques used to assist the Data Analyst in answering the business questions are ranking, filtering, crosstabs and graphing to help them analyze large volumes of data (whether OLAP or dimensionally modeled relational metadata). These will enable multi-dimensional reports to be produced , optionally with charts and also to export the definition into Report Studio.
