Leeds 24th June 2011. CSI Limited is pleased to announce the successful implementation of another SAP real-time Warehouse Management project.
The client is a major pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor. CSI were responsible for delivering a complete turnkey solution including the wireless backbone and the mobile radio frequency devices.

The solution is 100% SAP; using CSI's mobile data capture accelerators communicating with Psion WorkaboutPro handheld terminals via SAPConsole and Georgia Softworks UTS. Point of application labels are printed on Zebra QL420+ mobile printers hosted in SAP. The solution incorporates SAP's eWM (extended Warehouse Management) components.

The application supports the following processes within the warehouse, which is both storage unit and batch managed:

• Putaway of external & production receipts
• Picking for production staging, Kanban replenishment and outbound delivery
• Creation of picks for ad hoc issues to production
• Production returns
• Storage unit splitting, consolidation and general housekeeping
• Bulk storage type picking
• WM inventory counting at both bin and quant level integrated into the picking process

CSI anticipates that this will be the first phase of a project that will go on to extend SAP real-time barcode data capture to manufacturing and dispensary business processes.
